6 rings, 6 FMVPs, no finals game 7.
kobe helped win the game for LA though at the end with a key shot/assist with legendary defense/rebounding for a finals game
no 1 guy won that game 7. it was a collective effort and boston shooting themselves in the foot

You're right. Since we're talking about finals, Shaq won Kobe 3 rings, and Artest won his last one.
The great Kobe Bryant with one ring and a lifetime achievement MVP to rule them all.

still a better/more impressive/more meaningful shot than jordans against the cavs

we're talking about making key shots. and kobe hit most of the key shots for shaq. not the other way around
when the pressure was on... shaq flopped more often than not in his career.
kobe had the better career without shaq than shaq had without kobe.
kobe was picked over shaq by LA
kobe won 1 more title than shaq
kobe saved the 2000 WCF and nba Finals for shaq
kobe averaged all time record stats for a non mvp in the 2001 playoffs
lets just agree that shaq needed kobe way more than kobe needed shaq. we get in this conversation every day
and it always ends with the same outcome.
shaq needed legends to win
kobe only needed pau ( a nobody as far as legendary status is concerned )
pau gasol is good. but hes one of the all time WORST rated 2nd options in title history

- Bulls eventually went on to the ECF without HCA, almost beating the Pistons because of it.
- Bulls dynasty might not have happened if he would've missed.
- He hung in the air.
Cavs were the 3 seed, Chicago 6th.

probably 500 go ahead eventual winners
atleast 25 buzzer beater winners
a lifetime of clutch shots
talk all the sh*t you want about the ones hes missed. doesnt take away the ones hes made
and atleast 5-10 of them are more impressive than jordans vs cleveland
dont get me wrong. jordans was nice. but "the shot" of all "shots"
lol no

Re: why is "The Shot" so famous
Game winner and a series closing shot.
a) Those shitty Cavs won 10 games more than the Bulls, 57 for 47.
b) It was a Playoff series and thanks to that shot, Bulls advanced instead of the Cavs
c) Both teams had no chance for the title, so let's not try to do well and advance right? Nice competitive mindset
d)The Bad Boys were a clearly superior team, still managed to win 2 games.

2000 finals:
Shaq - 38/17/3 on 61%
Kobe - 16/5/4 on 37%
2001 finals:
Shaq - 33/16/5 on 57%
Kobe - 25/8/6 on 42%
2002 finals:

Kobe without Shaq (say Rik Smits or Yao Ming) and Kobe doesn't even get to the Finals.
Kobe missed practically 2 games in the 2000 Finals yet he saved Shaq??

Re: why is "The Shot" so famous
OP making real Kobe fans look bad.
If LeBeta is 4/10 on the clutch scale, and Kobe is a 10/10, then MJ is probably like...Infinity/10.
That Cavs team back then was rather good, and Ehlo was no bum. He was a skilled player and a great defender.
MJ > Kobe and always will be unless Kobe wins like 2 more rings, which is not gonna happen. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Chicago weren't the favorites but it wasn't that huge of an upset.
