Default Clippers/Celtics Trade Idea

The Clippers send Baron Davis, Al Thornton and Chris Kaman to the Celtics for Rajon Rondo, Bill Walker, Ray Allen and Brian Scalabrine.

The Celtics have an arsenal of veteran star players with Pierce, Garnett, Allen and Wallace. Then you have this 23 year old point guard trying to lead them. Baron Davis and Paul Pierce are already great friends which dates back to their high school days playing in Southern California. They do charity work together and their chemistry will be great. Davis doesn't always have to be the best player. His best years were when he played alongside guys like Mashburn and Stephen Jackson.

The Clippers get another young piece to build around in Rondo. A guy that averaged 16 points, 9.7 rebound and 9.8 assists in the playoffs. A tough perimeter defender which bodes well for Coach Mike Dunleavy. Ray Allen is an expiring contract who can probably be dealt before the deadline for another young player to a team looking to shed salary.

Baron and Kaman for Ray and Rondo sounds good to me. Allen can be our shooter off the bench at the 2 and 3 and Rondo will fit perfectly as point guard. The Celtics get another solid center and a nice point guard to replace Rondo who they don't want.

I couldn't see the Celtics breaking up their big three for Baron Davis, who I might add has only played like 4 full seasons since he was drafted in 1999.
