Yeah just about everyone is missing the point. Whether you think its dead or not, the blame is on us, not rappers, not record companies, not media. We have all the power to change that, but people actually like whats out there, which is why it remains popular. Rap is not dead in the least, but people's values and what appeals to them has definitely changed. Bring the greatest rappers of all time into the present, have them in their prime, and they most likely wouldn't sell if they were delivering the same message that made them great in the past, unless that message was sex, drugs, and partying, which are the hot selling topics today.

right... rap is alive and people love it. Hip hop is dead.
