MSG hopefully asbestos-free after initial Nov. 2 scare

The Knicks have contacted the Prudential Center to discuss the feasibiilty of moving their game Friday night against Washington to the Newark facility, but the Madison Square Garden asbestos cleanup is expected to be completed by Wednesday. An NBA official, who requested anonymity because he is not at liberty to speak for the Knicks or Devils, who manage the arena, said that MSG operations firmly believes it will resolve the Garden problem "very soon," and that last night’s Knicks-Orlando cancelled game will be the only event that requires rescheduling.
