Yeah the photo is misleading. Reagan and Sinatra were good friends. Sinatra was a Reagan Democrat. First, and probably only, Republican he voted for or endorsed.

Au contraire...
The first presidential Republican he supported was Nixon, when he was up for re-election.
His switch to the Republican Party was now official; he even told his daughter, Tina, who had actively campaigned for Nixon's Democratic opponent George McGovern, "the older you get, the more conservative you get."

I stand corrected. I always thought Sinatra was a long standing Democrat with his mob ties and all.

Heh, well yeah he was a Dem throughout much of his youth and earlier adulthood. His mother was a Democratic party organizer, union/mob activist etc. But as mentioned in the quote, as he got older he naturally became a bit more conservative.
He was a good guy tho, he always wanted what was best for people regardless of which party he found himself aligned with.

Republicans were almost cool once.
Reagan was cool.
Sinatra was cool.
Rambo was cool.
Now 40% of Republicans fawn over a bloated asshole who wakes up every morning and deliberately paints himself orange.
I guess it's true what they say, you can't go back...
