Default What's up with the Suns? Lousy start to the season

No reason to go nuts since it's just a few games, but what's wrong early on?

They're notorious for starting off the season bad. They have no big man that can play effective D, they should of never traded K.Thomas. I would love to see them put a good trade package together to try and get a solid big man.... Maybe JO or something. Because with this current Roster they aren't getting by the Spurs or the Mavs.

To me the suns just looked so lazy out there last night, I mean really lethargic, they had no pride what so ever, on their home court!

I think what needs to happen is the guys need to take a bit more pride and not be blown out by one of the most average benches in the leauge.

Have a nice day all.

In the pre-season teams dont run a lot of zone defense so at the begginning of the season the Suns are caught off guard when teams play zone. It will take 4-5 games before there offense is back on track.

As for there defense?? There defense strives off of them scoring...and since the zone stops that....there you go.

No defense + No size + No rebounding + hurt Amare + rusty Nash = Slow start

Nash seemed to be pretty ON last night...30 points? and it's the start of the season...sort of. and marion...both of them seemed on a mission...

good game...not solid because they were tied pretty much until the end but a win is a win...can't complain.

GO SUNS

Raja is out with an ankle injury. There has been no news as to how long he will be gone for though.

well grant hill turn out to be a worthwhile acquisition. diaw still can't shoot consistently. now at least they have marion, don't trade him! nash is still nash. but i can't see suns beating the spurs unless amare stays healthy

Don't know how you get that from the games so far, are you actually watching them? I was visiting the board to make a thread on how great Diaw's jumper has looked so far when I saw this.
According to 82games.com, Diaw is shooting a better percentage on Jumpers so far than he is on inside attempts (layups, dunks, etc). His accuracy on jumpers is up several percentage points vs. last year and more than 5% compared to his breakout season 2 years ago (.465 vs .410).
His catch and shoot jumper looks completely different than the last two years, as he is taking it without any hesitation and with good consistent form. He's not suddenly a great shooter or anything but that would be expecting way too much. He has however been significantly more aggressive and accurate off the catch with his feet set so far this year, and that's really all you can ask for.

You're right, Diaw's jumper has been going down consistently this season, much better than last year. It looks like he has really worked on that part of his game.
