Kyle Singler relies on hustle and bball IQ
His numbers don't jump out. His averages of 8.8 points and 2.7 rebounds per game don't scream impact. His player efficiency rating of 8.31 is pedestrian.
But there is one stat where Singler does impress: plus-minus.
Before the Thanksgiving eve debacle at Orlando, Singler was the only Piston getting regular minutes to be on the plus side of the stat through the first 11 games. After Friday night's victory over Toronto, it's at minus-1. Of players with more than 200 minutes, Jason Maxiell is next at minus-13.
That stands out like a sore thumb, considering the team's woeful start.
