The fact you talk about how good pitchers are/aren't and refer to wins and losses as part of your argument (actually, your ONLY argument) completely negates anything else you'll write here. Embarrassing.

Halladay has 2 games where he pitched a complete 9 innings and lost or got a no decision. Plus another solid outing he should have won.

L vs. Pittsburgh - 9 IP, 9 hits, 2 ER
No decision vs. Cincinatti - 9 IP, 5 hits, 0 ER
L vs. Florida - 8 IP, 6 hits, 1 ER

The Phillies have lost 9 games that Halladay has started in and averaged 2.3 runs in those games. Yeah, let's look at records to determine how well a pitcher has pitched.

Looks that way.

I think it's safe to say Cliff Lee will be near the top of these top 5 lists next year.

Baseball's kinda exciting now when the team you grew up with is playing well in the playoffs.

More hits dropped in for him. Some in part due to bad luck and probably a lot due to the Royals being a pathetic defensive team. Greinke is still really good. Might have to be dropped from top 5 though.

Halladay
Hernandez
Lee
Lincecum

Are IMO indisputable for top 4 in whatever order right now. If you don't have them, you are wrong! After that, you can't go wrong with any of Verlander, Lester, Greinke, Josh Johnson or Sabathia IMO as overall pitchers.
