Re: First All Star Returns In
AI votes are down, he stole many the last 2 years from Melos fanbase. However he is lucky he is competing with nobody. Melo has AMARE + Tim duncan as high competition.

Yeah but if my memory is correct then he wasn't a starter in LA back in '04 but he put on a hell of a show and won the ASG MVP. It'd be cool regardless to see him in the ASG again,. especially this year.

Agreed I hate when people stereotype an entire ethinic group because there players don't get in. There are dumb voters everywhere, especially here in North America. 495,514; Yi Jianlian (NJ) 356,556; Chris Bosh (Tor) I'm a Raptors fan and that's not right! Bosh is the better player hands down but Yi gets more of the popularity vote.

Yi has 100 000 more than Bosh, a double the votes of Paul Pierce, and 7 times the votes of Danny Granger.
He is putting up 11points (at 43%) and 6 boards.
How many years are we from having an all China starting lineup consisting of a crippled Yao, 6th man Yi, and three Chinese D-Leaguers that somehow snuck on the Ballot.
-Ridnour&Nelson>Rose>Devin Harris
-Gilbert Arenas has votes
-Okafor is probably the second best center in the East, but he's not even top 10 most voted.
-Jet&Kidd>Billups,Roy
Can't blame China for those

I hope Yi and Bosh both make it, **** Lebron and KG!

Re: First All Star Returns In
I'm a Raptors fan but I hope Yi makes it over both KG and Bosh. I'd rather Bosh save his energy for games that actually mean something rather than the pointless All-Star game. Take those 3-4 days off Bosh.

I don't blame China, I blame the voting system. The Chinese are probably a lot like US voters: there are some smart fans, and then there are some homers. Homers are the reason why guys like Jameer Nelson has over 100,000 votes. Some fans will vote for a guy because it is the team they like, not because the player deserves it. Every area has its fair share of homers. China is just a lot bigger area with a lot more people, so theoretically they could have a lesser ratio of homers than places in the US, and still have more homers that will rack up a scrub like Yi 350,000 votes already.
So yeah, China's homers are no worse than our homers, but there are just so many people in China. Hopefully, the NBA will change the voting system so that Yi doesn't undeservingly make the team in the future.

If Yi got in, they would have to change the system. Like how about NOT HAVING A PLAYER AS ****TY AS YI ON THE ****ING BALLOT?!?!?

Re: First All Star Returns In
Allen Iverson doesn't deserve to make the All-Star team this year, especially not as a starter.
Joe Johnson, Devin Harris and Ray Allen have all been playing better IMO.

Re: First All Star Returns In
Oden having more than Jefferson is truly one of the most absurd things I've ever seen in my life. Absolutely no reason for him to have more votes. None at all. And the fact that Yi is likely going to get in is laughable as well. As long as people who look back on this in 20 years wondering how he got in realize he's Chinese, it's all good.
