issue with this is West isn;t going to make elsewhere what he was expected to make in Indy...so he's basically ring-chasing to solidify the career?

    He'll re-sign.

3/20m seems about right for his services.

I don't think he has any desire to play elsewhere.

What's wrong with role player past his prime chasing rings? Please explain.

never said it was wrong...it's an issue as far as motive. no need to tie up your panties Caitlin.

i personally rather any player sacrifice some cash to win...prime or past prime, shows how much more they value the game and winning over riches to be nobody on a dead-end team.

no one likes losing...and if you think a few million difference really warrants that after already making tens of millions, then I question your motives. you came in the league to cash out or win?

There's always a chance West just wants to re-sign on 2-year deal, but given $$$ he just opted out of ($12.6M), doesn't quite feel that way

Who says Indy isn't competitive next season tho?

They just barely missed the playoffs with their starting PG out for half the season and, by far, their best player out pretty much the entire year. IIRC, just with George Hill they had strong record. Throw PG back in the mix with the 11th pick (DE projects WCS; maybe someone like Lyles or Kaminsky if West leaves).

the guy that's watched every Pacers game for the last like 10 years is who. even if PG never broke his leg this core is done. it's severely, SEVERELY, lacking in offensive talent and the way the league is shifting it's an archaic roster that can't rely on world class defense.

West is washed up as a starter, PG is a question mark until he proves he isn't, Hibbert needs a change of scenery thanks to Bird going out of his way to turn the fanbase against him.

the Pacers 2 best players next year are going to be PG (I hope) and George Hill, that's not winning dick but maybe a 1st round series. very much appreciate West signing here, very much appreciate him helping instill a winning culture again, and thanks for the parting gift of some cap space. go chase a ring, I'll root for West the whole way.

it's time to jump start the on the fly rebuild. glad West didn't let Bird try to stick it out with these dudes for another year.

If the knicks had any sort of semblance to a play off team, it would be interesting to see West play in the triangle.

He would be interesting in HOU is they arent able to retain smith on the cheap. Maybe back to NO? His game can pretty much translate anywhere, as long as he isnt playing heavy minutes
