I watched Norwegian wood. It was extremely well shot, very beautiful, lovely score, but the directing/pacing was off. Also I don't think they spent enough time with midori. They also rushed/botched my favorite scene. Still it's worth watching if ur a fan of the book.

7/10

I've seen it for 4 times I guess. I've seen NCFOM about 3 full times. About 4 for Jesse James and 3 for Gone Baby Gone. What an amazing year. It seemed like there was something for almost everyone.

If there is any complaint I have about TWBB it's the soundtrack.... I think the length gives us a lot people problems. But honestly, it's probably the most close we will get to another Kubrick film for a while. Especially with most movies now being remakes, reboots, sequels and Superhero/action movies.

The film from that year that so many people seem to love that I can only like is Zodiac... I mean, I give it an 8/10, but I can't get up the urge to watch it again.

Forrest Whitaker's a good actor/film maker 'Brick City' season 1 was the fecal matter.

Looking at movies he was in on google there was one I never heard of before so I ordered it from Blockbuster.

Crips and Bloods: Made in America it was ok

Yeah, see, we're all different when it comes to certain movies because I went on a Zodiac kick a while ago and saw it at least 4 times in one month.

We can both recognize that the movie is good, however it doesn't resonate as deep as other movies and therefore the rewatchability factor plummets because of that. And that really doesn't have a bearing on the quality of the film at all.

Another one for me is 2001, I recognize that the film is brilliant but It's very hard to watch because the pacing is ultra slow. It's a long movie anyways, but it feels like you spent an entire day watching it, for me it does at least.

Casino Jack - 6/10
- Boring overall story held together by some great energetic acting from Kevin Spacey, Barry Pepper and Jon Lovitz. I'll admit I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to campaign lobbyists and what and how they do things so I found it at times tough to follow and really get into the world of this movie. Decent but overall very forgettable.

Certified Copy - 7/10
- This movie had my confused by the end but I, for the most part, enjoyed some of the messages it was trying to portray about relationships. I really like Juliette Binoche and she didn't disappoint here. Great actress regardless of what language she is speaking in. There wasn't anything profound in here and the characters weren't as likable as in Before Sunrise/Sunset movies (similar style here). You also can't go wrong shooting a movie in Tuscany. It looked great.

Rabbit Hole - 9/10
- Great movie and I can't believe it took me so long to watch it. Given the premise, I was expecting a lot of well-acted but overdone melodrama. It ended up being a very well acted movie that dealt with a crushing topic with a relatively even keel but not so much that it was completely devoid of emotion. There were some "big" scenes for Kidman and Eckhart but also some amazingly subtle and touching ones with Kidman and Diane Weist, who plays her mother. I also found it refreshing in how it let you decide what to think of the characters without being manipulative and forcing and obvious point of view. A great character drama and one of the best movies of last year.

Have you seen the documentary? I've been looking for a few weeks and all I can ever find is this movie. Similar names.

People don't know how to properly use a 1-10 rating scale, and throw around 7's and 8's for "good" movies. Like I said, 5 is average, therefore a 6.9 is almost 50% better than the "average" movie.

Also, when did I say it was "slow"??

My critique was that it felt rushed and shallow. Where is "slow" in that assessment??

I usually give a 6 to films on the bubble or guilty pleasures. I mean, if I like a movie I feel it should get above a 5... Sometimes I'll give a movie a 5 if it has strong points, but overall I didn't enjoy the movie. Seven is an example. It has some strong points... Kevin Spacey's acting and the tone is quite good... But I think Pitt's acting was bad and I thought Pitt and Freeman just had uninteresting characters so I didn't enjoy the movie. So I'll give it a 5.

7 is good.... 8 is really good and 9's and 10's are great. I rarely give the movie a 10 though.
