Say what you want about his competition, but that is a cop out excuse. Marquez, Pac, Alvarez, Cotto, Corralles, De La Hoya, Mosley, Hatton, etc... All guys that looked competitive against each other, and absolutely outclassed by Floyd. All HOF's or undefeated at the time Floyd fought them too.
DLH wasnt outclassed that was a close fight. So was Cotto and Maidana. Canelo was weight drained. Mosley was past his prime and so was Pac having just been flatted by Marquez and lost to Bradley

Castillo shouldve got the win against Floyd in the first fight as well. He was the best pressure fighter Floyd fought till Maidana. Neither are close to alltimers. Floyd has always struggled with intelligent pressure

As far as boxing goes Mayweather is the best.

As far as far as entertaining UFC fans he's not the greatest.

    Go watch UFC

    TKOs are counted as knockouts.

OP distinguishing between a TKO and a KO.

Btw, Mayweather has had a stoppage more recently than Pacquiao, which is who this thread is all about. Food for thought.

Mayweather also defeated Pacquiao. More food for thought.

How hard is it not to get hit when that's all youre focusing on? The guy doesnt go at anyone. If his opponents took the same approach, it would just end in a stalemate. It's always easier to stand back and play defense than try to penetrate. But his opponents know they have to take the iniative and go for an offensive bc otherwise Floyd will just get the benefit of the doubt at the end of the fight if nothing happens.

Why is it that none of the other great fighters have this kind of criticism about them to the degree Floyd does? If it's such an important part of boxing, why is Floyd the only one so closely associated with it? I'm not a boxing historian by any means, but I never hear anyone say how Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Robinson, Oscar, Tarver, etc etc would just run around ducking people ,but how they did it with great technique and that's what's important!

On top of that, his competition HAS been suspect. And he still fails to ever dominate his opponents in an exchange of blows. It's always just running, waiting, avoiding, and then ding ding ding, Floyd made his opponent miss on big shots, while Floyd got a few little love-tap counters in, wow hit count goes to Floyd he wins on decision!

It's lame. People that try to claim it's impressive to them bc theyre boxing purists are pretentious and gay.

    Hard.

And it isn't all he focuses on. He is one of the best counter-punchers in the history of boxing. Check out his connect percentage. You don't get that by just focusing on defense.

You don't have to like watching him, but denying he is great at his craft is absurd. It isn't a Toughman Contest. That's what most non-boxing fans want to see and you can get it at your local YMCA.

    1. I can't believe that KO against Ortiz counted.

    2. I can't believe Ortiz put his hands down and looked away for so long.

    Just too suspect.

So 4 pages in and still no answer why he has 0 knockouts in 16 years??

Its like trying to defend why Kobe has only 1 MVP in 19 seasons, causes people to think..

    TKOs are KOs, dumbass!

Focus your energy determining who the next role player to win Finals MVP at LeBron's expense will be. Boxing isn't your thing.

Whole post is terrible. Lets pick it apart.
How hard is it? Extremely. Take a look at every sport when one team gets out in front and sit back defensively. What usually happens? The other team gets freedom on offense and starts doing better. If that was what Floyd was actually doing, then he wouldn't be as great as he is.

None of them are close to as hated, or have the build up in their fights that Floyd had. Floyd had great technique, hence his high percentage of hits landed.
I'm not even sure why Floyd is as hated as he is. He isn't anywhere near the cockiest fighter to ever get in the ring, always gives his competition praise both before and after the fight, etc.

Suspect competition? He has beaten the number 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 guys in his era... He has literally beaten all the top guys of his era.
Dominate his opponents in exchange of blows is exactly what he does. Why do you think opponents generally throw less against Floyd. Floyd may be unwilling to throw as much as he used to, but he makes his shots land perfectly, and hurt.

It's lame. People that try to claim it's impressive to them bc theyre boxing purists are pretentious and gay.
Not really. Even if I didn't like boxing so much I'd be extremely impressed. It is literally clowning on someone making them miss as bad as Floyd makes them miss.
Why is it that every guy he has faced has nothing but praise for him? Manny seems to be the only one who is salty.
