Nooo, we're doomed! Didn't he pick the Nets to come out of the East two years in a row now?

You have to realize that you are speaking with people who have been cheering for a team whose best point guard the past six years has been Jeff McGinnis.
Trust me... we have a right to be excited about Delonte. The more I think about this trade, the more I love it.
We got rid of a bunch of garbage. In all honesty, the player that I will miss the most of everyone we gave up if Ira Newble. The others.... good riddance.
We pick up the best point guard LeBron has ever had, a great energy guy/rebounder/help defender, a great spot up shooter, and a very good back up power forward (not to mention a 2nd round pick).
On top of it all, we will still have $30 million in expiring contracts this offseason.

This is an uncharacteristically good move for Cleveland. Maybe there is hope for a Cavs dynasty. The bench is better, and it looks like financially they are good too. I just hope they don't get torched by opposing 2's. But there aren't many teams that have defenders to deal with West/Gibson, Pavlovic/Scerbiak, James.
I really hope they go with bursts out of the big men to keep them ultra active and rested.

I like this deal for the Cavs. Both West and obviously Wally can shoot 3s so now Lebron will be surrounded by shooters pretty much all the time.
I think West will do very well there. He doesn't get to the basket a lot and isn't really a playmaker but on the Cavs that doesn't really matter. He is a competent ball handler, good shooter and good defender.

Looove the deal for Cleveland. Wally and Delonte are incredibly solid role players who can shoot the lights out while Ben Wallace is still capable of playing good defense behind Z.

Cavs fans are in total denial. Delonte West is an average PG; Joe Smith is nothing more than a role player; Wally is a good spot-up shooter who can't play defense or do much of anything else; Big Bust Wallace is a cancer and a piece of trash. There's a reason why Bulls fans are rejoicing at the news that Wallace is not longer a member of their team.
Apparently Cavs fans think their getting Ben Wallace from the Detroit Pistons days.

Just for fun, some guesses
Delonte West:
32 minutes, 10 points, 5 assists
-point guard, perimeter defender, shooter
Daniel Gibson:
32 minutes (16 at pg, 16 at 2 guard), 12 points, 3 assists
-spot up shooter, backup pg
Sasha Pavlovic:
24 minutes, 9 points
-shooter/slasher
Wally Scerbaik:
16 minutes (8 at sg, 8 at sf), 6 points
-shooter
Lebron James:
40 minutes, 30 points, 7 rebounds, 9.5 assists
-drive and dish/drive and finish
Anderson Varejao:
24 minutes, 8 points, 6 rebounds
-energy/active size
Joe Smith:
24 minutes, 10 points, 6 rebounds
-length
Zydrunus Ilgauskus:
24 minutes, 12 points, 6 rebounds
-post presence
Ben Wallace:
24 minutes, 4 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal
-rebounding, defense anchor
Other Reserves:
Damon Jones (PG)
Devin Brown (SG)
Dwayne Jones (F-C)

Re: Cavs, Bulls, and Sonics 11-player deal with Ben Wallace, L.Hughes, D.Gooden, Wall
i like this for the cavs. i think ben wallace is a big name and a big contract but i think this deal was about everything but ben wallace.
the cavs ownership wanted wallace years ago but they didn't pull the trigger and he went to chicago. no one thought they could trade hughes, same thing for chicago fans feeling's toward wallace, so that's a wash.
what about joe smith? that's big for the cavs. he is 10x smarter than drew gooden so he should play well with lebron. it's all about spacing and awareness with lebron and drew is horrible at both. he can't rebound and bang like drew, but hey we got big ben and andy.
the cavs are the biggest team in the east now, already the best rebounding team in the east.
separate trade, but you gotta look at sczerbiak and delonte west remaking the backcourt without hughes. the cavs now have another legit 3-point assassin and an all-star in wally. delonte, also a shooter, has a chance to earn serious minutes if he can run the cavs offense.
cavs shipped out average talent with major deficiencies (gooden and hughes), a bunch of crap from the end of the bench (marshall and newble) and d-leaguers (brown and simmons) and got in return 1-2 starters in 4 legitimate rotation players.
bulls got screwed, they just don't know it yet.
seattle wanted to get screwed and took it proper.
it can't be as good as i've just laid it out, this is cleveland, but it seems to me that the cavs just ante'd up for the east and they already have been beating the paper-champion celtics. the pistons look neither big nor bad nor unbeatable in cleveland anymore.
