Default Richard Hamilton or Ben Gordon

Well, the Pistons need to put one of these two on the bench and the other starting SG. Who will it be?

IMO, i think Rip should start.

Rip is the better overall player. Ben should be our extremely expensive spark off the bench.

Agreed. I definitely am going to have to go with Rip being the starter. He didn't like coming off the bench behind A.I., so I'm thinking coming off the bench behind Ben Gordon would be ubsurd.

Rip starts, bring Ben off the bench. Rip is the more experienced and has a better overall game and is a better leader.

Gordon can be an explosive, energy type player off the bench.

Rip has been my favorite piston for a long time. But with this team right now, I think Gordon is the better fit. It gives us a true 3pt threat, something we really needed last year. I'm not to worried about his size either. Hopefully coach puts him on points, with Stuckey on the 2 guards.

It will be very rare to see Gordon run the point. He isn't a PG.

I wanna see Rip start and play alongside Gordon for long stretches, Rip will probably have to play the 3 spot, but it would give Detroit two solid scoring options and make them very dangerous on offense....it's a good problem to have IMO

Defensively the Pistons would get killed like that. Rip can't match up well with many of the SF's in the league. I can't see him guarding guys like Lebron, Pierce, Iguodala, Deng, Artest, Jefferson, Beasley, etc, etc.

Small ball only works in certain situations for short periods of time. The only way Gordon and Rip should be in at the same time is if one is playing PG and the other SG. Even at that they would need Tay to be more of a Point Forward.

Sorry if I was unclear. I intended to say Gordon guard 1s on defense, and Stuckey guard 2s, but the line up would be:

PG: Stuckey
SG: Gordon

Though we didn't do this last year with Iverson/Stuckey, so I wouldn't be surprised if white guy didn't either.

Yeah, that actually makes some sense to try, when Rip needs a break.
