I watched every game last year and the games where we looked like a playoff team is when the 2(Synder) or 3(Butler) played well, but that was few and far between. So I think they should draft like this:
#12: Ronnie Brewer, Cedric Simmons, Rodney Carney
#15: Quincy Douby, Raja Rondo, possibly Maurice Ager(reach)
Ideally we'd get Simmons for some power in the middle and Douby as our lights out shooter, which we desperately need.
In no shape or form should we draft J.J. Redick or Hilton Armstrong. We don't have the post presence that Redick needs nor do we need a player who doesn't play very hard.
Of course, I wouldn't mind us trading the two picks to get Brandon Roy at 3 or trade Claxton and #14 for Tyrus Thomas.
This outta be an interesting draft for NOK this year. We got 2 first rounders, what do we do? Trade one, trade both, or stick wit' it? If we keep them, the 2 guys I'd like to see are Patrick O'Bryant and Ronnie Brewer. P.O.B. would give us more flexibility to make some moves up front, possibly moving PJ to a contender. Brewer has a huge upside, if he slips to us at 15 we need to grab him. Our focus should be big man first, then a solid wing player who can shoot the ball, since it seems we have given up on JR. I'd love to package both of the picks for top 5 pick or #8 and a player so we can get O'Bryant.
Have we resigned Speedy yet? If so, we could do a sign and trade deal with him and one of our picks to go up the draft for Roy. Then we could get Armstrong with our other pick. Also, get a veteran power forward/center from free agency and through trading J.R. and whomever else.
Reddick can't guard anyone and can't create a shot on his own. Coach Scott expects his players to play both ends of the floor. Drafting Reddick would be like drafting a non-athletic J.R. Smith. It would be a big mistake.
I'm a laker fan but i really like where this team is headed, and to be honest i think the hornets have the best deal in the fact that they have this pretty high mid-round picks.
I don't know what they're needs are but i love paul and i really like david west too. I think they might be able to take J.J. with that first pick and could really open up the floor and strech the defense for those guys; especially with a star-in-the-making in chris paul.
As for the second pick, they should draft a big guy or a SF because it looks like Rasual might be testing the free agent waters. I think if Carney slips out, they should take him because that would make some legitamite threats on the basketball floor.
PG - Paul
SG - Reddick
SF - Carney
PF - West
C - Brown or free agent (Pryzbilla, Nazr, or NENE)
