The difference is that KG is a seasoned vet, who's hungry for a championship. Al is an excellent player but he's young and still in "i'll do my best and see what happens" mind frame. Paul Pierce loved having big Al on the team but KG has become the heart and soul of this team, and now they have an "anything less than a championship is a failure" mentality that they didn't have when Al Jeff was there.

there must be intangibles and a mentality thing going on because all the #'s and moves on the court (plus games played) point to Al Jeff being better.

KG is better because defense is still part of the game. KG, if not the best, is one of the top 3 overall defenders in the nba, where as Jefferson is below average. Jefferson is also pretty much a black hole at this point in his career (cant blame him there), where as KG is one of the finest passing forwards in the league and is a proven team player.

amazing you made me cry seriously ive never seen a troll better than you ... al jefferson is good alright but he wouldnt even come close to where kg is .. no reason to compare dude jefferson will never be able to guard 5 positions on defense .. i need not to mention more dude.. dont want to hurt your feelings...

No one can denied that Al Jefferson is the future of the Minnessota Timberwolves. This Kid drafted out of high school with the 15th pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2004 NBA Draft, he should have been a top 5 pick IMO because his Highschool Stats are beyond amazing averaging closer to 42.6 PPG, and grabbing 18.6 RPG in his senior year.

If you compare his skills right now i think he is still pretty advance for his age, and i think in the long run he would be a much better scorer than Kevin Garnett.

He might be a little undersized to play the PF Spot, but he makes up for his long wingspan, and athletic ability to dominate in the post.

Al Jefferson is averaging 21.1 PPG, 12.1 RPG, 1.4 BPG, 1.3 APG, 1.0 SPG in the regular season, so despite playing with the worst team in the NBA he is still putting up all star quality numbers at the age of 23.

Jefferson is now in the same boat as KG was, probably worse. Look for 4 years of Al Jeff puting up big numbers and losing miserably.

Wolves would be a winning team as soon as they make a huge progressed in using their lottery pick to build this team around.

If the Boston Celtics never win a championship in the next 2-3 years, i still believe that the Wolves got the better deal of the trade because the Celts gave up several future draft picks, and they also acquired a very talented PF in the person of Al Jefferson.

KG might be winning games in the Eastern Conference, but in the long run the Wolves are on the verge of drafting either Michael Beasley or Derrick Rose in the 2008 NBA Draft, this would give this franchise some additional fire power to be a playoff team in the near future.

playing with a terrible team makes it easier not harder to put up numbers. his season is still impressive but come on hes not in the elite pfs league.

Then Garnett wasn't elite for most of his career with that logic.

Jefferson may not be elite just yet, but after mid-season, he'll definitely be top-10, and there's no arguing that.

Same can be said about Kevin Garnett before he got traded to the Boston Celtics. After taking his team in the Western Conference Finals in 2004, his team missed the playoffs for 3 consecutive years, and The Big Ticket is still putting up sick numbers in a terrible team.

This is the year that Big Al finally break out as a player, and he might be an elite PF once the Wolves have a winning record in the regular season.

He is still pretty impressive because you never know this kid would put up better numbers, when he is playing for the Boston Celtics because he was never expected to be as good as Dwight Howard, or some other big men in the 2004 NBA Draft.
