He's one of, that's for sure:

One of only 4 players to score more than 60 points multiple times (tied with MJ, he's done it 5 times, Elgin Baylor has done it 4 times, ...the other guy I'll mention below) and he's got the record for a perimeter player, and the 2nd highest total of all time.


But about that other guy... you see it's impossible to assert that Kobe could be the "greatest" with a straight face when you just take a glance at what Wilt did... Wilt is hands down the greatest, he has as many 60+ point performances as all other players in NBA history combined... and with higher totals

So Wilt averaged 50 points bunch of seasons and played 15 seasons in the NBA. Why isn't he higher up in the list?

MJ's scoring and efficiency took a CONSIDERABLE decline when he faced the PRIME "Bad Boys" from '88 thru '90. Shaq's took a solid hit against the Robinson-led Spurs from '99 thru '02. And a PEAK KAJ's scoring and efficiency fell off the cliff against Thurmond and Chamberlain in his playoff H2H's against them from '71 thru '73.

Futhermore, if you include REGULAR seasons, which involve FOUR to TWENTY-FIVE times more games than the playoffs...and a SCORING Chamberlain's COMBINED scoring just blows MJ, and EVERYONE else AWAY.
