How will Kobe's Legacy be affected if he loses with HC Advantage
If the LA Lakers lose a series in the playoffs with HC Advantage, how will that effect Kobe's legacy?
The only superstar that is a top 25 all time that never lost a series when the favorite with homecourt advantage and the better record is MJordan and he was 24-0.
The following players have all lost series with the HC Advantage
Kobe Bryant (lost in '03-04)
Wilt Chamberlain (lost in ’60-61, ’65-66, ’67-68, ’68-69, ’72-73)
Magic Johnson (lost in ’80-81, ’85-86, ’89-90)
Kareem (lost in ’72-73, ’73-74, ’76-77, ’80-81, ’85-86)
Larry Bird (lost in ’79-80, ’81-82, ’82-83, ’84-85, ’87-88)
Oscar Robertson (lost in ’61-62, ’64-65, ’72-73, ’73-74)
Jerry West (lost in ’68-69, ’72-73)
Shaq (lost in ’93-94, ’94-95, ’03-04, '04-05)
Hakeem (lost in ’84-85, ’86-87)
Duncan (lost in ’00-01, ’03-04)
Bill Russell (lost in 1958)
Point being is that excuses can't be made if you lose with the homecourt advantage. You can't say the team wasn't good enough, because if you are good enough to get the better record then you are good enough to win.

No one player is greater than the good of the whole for the Laker organization. It just does not work that way if you want to make it to the NBA finals and win titles.
Kobe would tell you the same thing... its about the ring.

Oh and another note, this kind of comment above is just rediculous when it comes to a team sport like basketball. Enough with the individualistic crap. The team wins it, the team loses it. Players don't lose anything as you suggest.

Who cares man. Your love for KG and hate for Kobe is already so obvious by your NBA threads. Just trying to come up with another way to bash kobe if he loses in the playofs huh? Many HOF's have lost with homecourt advantage. If they lose, they lose as a team. I would say his legacy could be affected if the next 5 years he loses with HC advantage, but this one year will not affect his legacy if he is able to lead the lakers to a title in the next 5-6 years. But in all honesty, im just enjoying watching th alkers play because they have become such a great team, not even at 100% yet. Im am not at all concerned at how kobes legacy will end up, just rooting for my home team and wanting them to play up to their capabilities. Lakers vs Celtics in the finals....man that wold be awesome dating back to magic v bird

In 2003, Garnett lost to the lakers in the first round with HC advantage too. Just thought you forgot :)
Re: How will Kobe's Legacy be affected if he loses with HC Advantage
Clearly the thread is ridiculous, but I'm going to entertain myself with addressing it:
The thing is, if he is trying to "bash Kobe" then he's really doing a poor job of it. Because he is saying of the supposed "25 greatest players of all time" only 1 has never lost a series with home court advantage. Which means what? That MJ is the only player to deserve any type of great legacy because he's the only not to have that happen to? So we should eliminate Magic, Bill Russell, and the rest because they have.
How does Kobe going through that change his legacy if:
A) He already has gone through it, and B) Every other NBA legend has too (except Jordan--supposedly)?

Well said Frank!
I guess all those guys legacy's are tarnished now because they lost a hc series. It doesn't matter that they are all hall of famers and all in the top 50 of all time lol.

Lets think of it this way... we gave him a shot to participate here. He decided to post trash. If it happens again, we will get the power hungry tyrant named lakerfreak to do his duty!

I have a statement for you after getting Garnett and Allen in the offseason anything else other than a Championship is a failure. You would definitley have to wonder if the Big Ticket is a championship player
