While I agree with most of your post, I have to say that NCFOM is one of the most overrated movies of this decade, imo. TWBB cracked my top 5 ever and pushed Pulp Fiction to #6 (P.T. Anderson, yay), but NCFOM is a terribly directed, painfully slow-developing story with a pseudo-intellectual moral at the end (with excellent acting, though).
Just because a lot of people liked the movie doesn´t make it good, otherwise Hannah Montana would be a great show.
