well, this has just gotten "bad" written all over it. first, insurance isn't just for if you hurt someone else. what happens if you crash your bike, and the bike slams into someones car? it could not hurt the other person, but there's going to be some damage to the car, and nowadays, any damage at all can get really expensive. then you're going to get the expenses of fines for not having insurance. and if you're health insurance finds out you were riding illegally without regular motorcycle insurance....... i would think they would fight to not have to pay.
I am 35 years old and pay $45 bucks a month year round full coverage on a 2007 gsxr 1000. I don't have any tickets or accidents within the last 10 years.
you have to find the right insurance company. some insurance companies classify bikes as "high risk" (sport bikes) and normal risk (harley, cruiser). the company i'm with just looks at the size (1000cc, 600cc). one other company gave me a quote on the same motorcycle at the exact same time as my ins.company. it was 165 per month because they classify it as a high risk bike.
