Not a bad narrative for the NBA actually. Best player in the league, returns to his hometown, and takes the team back to the Finals. Against the current league MVP, and a team of young, exciting NBA Finals virgins. Both teams fan-bases starving for a title.

The only better (realistic) match-up, at least for the NBA, would have probably been Thunder vs. Cavaliers. The league is built on Superstar players like LeBron and Durant; they're the ones who bring the casual fans.

But no one who is truly dominant. In the glory days we had Duncan vs Dirk, Dirk vs the superteam, Dirk vs Wade, Kobe and Pau vs the boys from Boston...this Finals lacks any of the truly seminal matchups. It's all jump shooting.

Lakers-Nets 02
Spurs-Nets 03
Spurs-Cavs 07
Lakers-Magic 09

All of them sucked... you knew who was gonna win before game 1... it was too overmatched. I excluded Lakers-Sixers because we were at least entertained by 2 games.
