hes got excellent timing on shotblocks. his top of the key jumpshot form and release reminds me alot of david robinsons jumper. He could be a good to great player if he is put in the right situation. I agree working with kareem on the lakers could make him into a really good player.
Strengths: Sagana Diop is a very athletic big man. he's close to 300 pounds and runs the floor like a small forward. he's very fast. coming from senegal, africa, he's only been playing competitive basketball for a few years so he figures to get a lot better. right now his best asset is his defense. he can hold opposing centers virtually scoreless with his smothering style of defense. he is a very good shot blocker, and can also help out and block other opposing players shots.
No they weren't at least in Diop's case. As you see he was billed as an athletic freak. He wasn't always as fat as he's got in his Cleveland days.

Meaning he needs to not let himself get fat like Diop...which is true of everyone in the NBA.
I remember mentioning him a long time ago and i remembered no one had a clue who Saer Sene was. He will be a solid player but will take a long time to develop and he needs the right person inorder to develop. I would suggest signing a good veteran center who is african to help him out.
Been singing this guys praises since the Hoop Summit. Was hoping the Knicks could land him at 29. Sadly that dream died about a month ago. Hopefully they still have a shot at 20.
Saer Sene needs to go to the right system (PHEONIX) and score of fast breaks, dunks, and become a dominant shot blocker. He could be the big man Pheonix dreamed of in 3-4 years and help out on fast breaks, dunks, and shot blocking immidately. He needs the right system though.
This pick is a high risk high reward pick. Just keep in mind the guy is getting 10 mpg in a crappy Euro league that is about the calibre of the Missouri Valley Conference (well maybe not the new and Improved Missouri Valley that had 4 tournament teams and 2 in the sweet 16).
Anybody who picks him in the top 10 is foolish, all he does at this point is block shots and in the NBA he will probably get into a lot of foul trouble. I'm going to hold off comparing him to African players, has a lot of good measureables but he will have to learn how to play.
