"This is a good thread because all four of these players have shown flashes, and little else. "

"Bargnani
Dec 13 vs Magic: 23/6/0/2
(that game covers his highs for all three)"

Actually that only covers his high for points.
Season high for Rebounds= 11, Blocks 6,

Bargnani has been steadly improving in all categories in pretty consistant manner. He has shown a good deal more than flashes.

A "good deal" more is an exaggeration. He's played pretty well, but it's not like he's going out and getting 20 every game. Every time he gets 12 points isn't considered a "flash".

what I've seen from Biedrins didn't impress me. It's only 2 games though, but IMO he will never be a good offensive player. He scores off easy opportunities, he won't ever be a go-to-guy. Bogut, Bynum and Bargnani have that potential, and that easily puts them over Biedrins in my book, despite him being a better defender and rebounder.

Defending and rebounding are role-player attributes, what you need from your superstar is to be a go-to-guy, someone who can but the ball into the bucket if you need him to. Biedrins is not that type of player.

bargnani= Super verstile scorer with the size and ball handling to create huge matchup problems in the future. Would like to see him rebound better, but he has made a enough progress to make me hopefull.

biendrins= hard working clutch player that can defend the middle and pull down key rebounds. I doubt he will ever develop into more than a decent scorer.

bynum= Big raw kid that has shown flashes of being an excellent center. Still too inconsistant for me to properly evaluate his long term potential.

bogut= Very solid player who is getting very close to his ceiling.

"Where to you get that from?"

His limited athletic ability and the fact he has an already fairly polished skills set. He is never going to be great outside shooter, and he doesn't have the speed or expolsivness to rebound or defend that much better than he currently does. He can become a better post scorer and defender, but he has nowhere near the upside of the other three.

Pretend you were talking about Bynum in that paragraph. Works, doesn't it?

Of course it can be said that Bynum has more potential than Bogut, but he already has plenty of moves in the post, and he isn't the quickest guy in the league. I agree that I'd rather have Bynum (as a Laker fan mind you) but saying Bogut has almost approached his peak when he can still learn a lot IQ wise, and devellop some better moves, and possibly a decent short range game, is pretty ridiculous.

Oh and Bynum, Bargs, Biedrins, Bogut in that order. But all of them can become premier centers in the league, probably the entire second tier after Yao/Amare/Dwight.

Bargnani being a Center is comedy.

Oh he does have the explosiveness to be a 11 RPG guy. You should see the way he booms into the air for uncontested rebounds. And I'm not joking. adamcz routinely makes comments about how that pisses him off.

He had a very good mid-range jumper in college that, for whatever reason, he's lost in the pros (my theory is the combination of lack of confidence and the fact that he always leans back into his shot- see LeBron as an example of a guy who improved his shot after he stopped fading every damn jump shot). Once his mid-range game comes around, his high post offense, and therefore playmaking ability, will be much improved.

He's lazy and unmotivated as of right now. He has many things he could improve on. I agree that the other 4 have more upside, but IMO, you don't really know what you're talking about when it comes to Bogut.
