As a person who was alive to see Magic play live (against Jordan, Bird, Hakeem and Erving), he was more then special.

Words can not explain seeing him lead a fast break (3 on 2) and making the defender look dumb with an amaizing no look pass. He helped the NBA become a TRUE national game. He is in the top 3 ALL TIME when it to leaders on team and the greatest pure floor general EVER in the NBA.

His smile was infecticious, engaging and refreshing. He style was that of Michaelo Angelo, Leonado Di Vinci and pure poetry. His attitude was the key cog to the Lakers. Plain and simple he was (and STILL IS) a winner.

There is (was) nothing like hearing Chick Hern discribe a fast break with Magic in the middle and Worthy and Scott on the wings...PURE JOY and PERFECTION.

I was lucky enough to see him live during his short stint in 96 where he was 672 pounds. Still kicked ass though!!!

Did anyone get to see him live then?

I certainly did... and even then, he was magical... just not quite the same unfortunately...

How many more rings would he have gotten if he kept playing instead of retiring the first time?

He could've won a couple more since the Lakers didn't really need to add much after 91. Maybe a slightly better big man.

I rem Magic's first game back in 96' I think he got 19 10 8. I mean how ****ing crazy is that??? Barely a TD in your first game after 5 years of enduring HIV??? 55 pounds heavier??? That game alone tells all.
