You're god damn right, they do.

And I love some of the commentary I hear about LT these days. "Just a Pass Rusher" What Absolute ****ing MONGS. I have entire seasons of the 1980s Giants on DVD sets, he is by far the most dominant OLB I have ever seen against the run, period. He also dropped back into coverage much more than people believe and excelled there too. The limited stats from the era don't tell a fraction of the story. I wish shit like QB hits and hurries was available then.

LOL @ The 49ers 6.3 PPG in three playoff games vs the Giants from 1985-90. All L's by the way.

I remember that hit on Montana and Craig's fumble like it was yesterday.

1984: #3 scoring defense - #1 yardage defense
1985: #1 scoring defense - #1 yardage defense
1986: #1 scoring defense - #1 yardage defense
1987: #4 scoring defense - #2 yardage defense
1988: #1 scoring defense - #2 yardage defense

The 1980s NFC was like the '80s Eastern Conference in the NBA, but possibly even better really. There were four absolute powerhouse teams beating the absolute hell out of each other, struggling in vain for ultimate supremacy. They all managed to eat too. The Bears only winning one SB is no bad mark on what their defense was with the Niners, Skins and Giants all around, and they managed to separate themselves as one of the greatest teams ever in the season they did take the Bowl.

they have a good ranking, I would think, counting multiple seasons as a whole but as a single season d, they have no claim to #1 .. and lets not talk about this season .. they got schooled on the biggest stage of the game .. null and void ..

the 76 Steelers allowed 28 pts in their last 9 games .. that's 3.1 pt/gm allowed .. and they SHUTOUT 5 of those 9 opponents .. insane .. they finished with 138 pts allowed for a 9.8 avg ..

77 falcons were pretty dominant also .. lowest pt avg allowed of any team ever .. of course this is in a 14 game schedule .. but it's still insane .. 129 in 14 games .. ravens allowed 165 in 16 .. so they would've had to allow 36 in the last two for the ravens to reach them .. but atl was averaging 9.2 pt/gm allowed .. not likely .. 77 falcons are arguably the best ever but they get no respect because well .. they're the falcons and they've never won shit lol

this. When faced with great defense, Joe Montana couldn't do sh1t. Tom Brady, on the other hand, is the GOAT.

I'd rather have 2 rings and be called the worse defense than have 1 and called the better defense.

what are you even talking about? Joe Montana has never beaten a defense that's remotely close to the Seahawks defense not just in the superbowl, but in the playoffs.

The 1984 team. He also beat the Giants that year too. Then he went on to beat the 15-1 Dolphins team. Bears went onto win the Super Bowl in 1985, and Giants won in 1986.

Brady has never beaten a team as good as any of those.
