Do I exercise my waiver priority on him? I could drop Kurt Thomas or Navarro. Is it worth a shot or do you see him sitting it out from here on out? Technically, the Pacers are still in the race for a 8th playoff spot so is it possible he could return? I'm not sure, but it could benefit me in the end if he came back. Good or bad move?
I thought about picking him up on Feb 1st as well. I read this article, and although there's some insight there, I wasn't overly convinced of anything. I'd be curious to hear what others take away from it, as it just seemed so contradictory on if/when he might actually come back.
Yea before I posted, I read up as much as i could find, but nothing convinced me of anything. It sounds like he could be back next week or in 4 months lol...im so confused?
Lastly, I have very few valued FA in my league so this could be an opportunity for something big come playoff time for me in 8 weeks. Dropping Kurt Thomas or Navarro and throwing an injured all star on my bench doesnt really concern me.

It sounds like you've weighted the options, so why not? Navarro could emerge in Memphis, especially if Mike Miller is traded, so I'd probably drop Kurt Thomas for JO, even though I know you like what Kurt brings to your team.
What about Tinsley? Is he ever getting his starting spot back? Is this a coaching/motivation thing? I'm wondering if he the coach dislikes him or if its something like that? I had 10 pt 8ast expectations for him, but hes barely getting 20 min. I think I need to drop a big though if I pick up JO.
On a side note, Jarrett jack is available so I could pick him up over Tinsley and JO up over Thomas. That seem like a good idea?
so if you would have foster right now, would you be leaning towards trading him before possible news of JO coming back soon, or lean towards keeping him since he is really great when starting?
I don't think I would drop navarro or thomas for JO, but I might consider trying to do a 2 for 1 trade and open up another slot (unless you are already carrying an injured player, then I would just sit with what I got)...
but with O'Neal, their winning without him
I feel their making sure he doesn't get reinjured and can pass the phyiscal when they do move him.
There's a few teams with Expiring contracts that can snatch him up
I wouldn't move on him till after the Allstar break or right after the trade deadline.
IMO, I am locked in the playoffs and the FA wire is very limited. If I wait, what happens when someone else takes him? He has already stated he would welcome a trade to the knicks. If he doesnt play for a month, so what? Fantasy playoffs arent for 8 weeks. I could fully see him returning by then. I just dont think its that risky at this point to just take him now.
FYI: Jermaine O'Neal-F/C- Pacers Feb. 8 - 7:59 pm et
Pacers' coach Jim O'Brien says that he expect to have Jermaine O'Neal back at full strength this season, and that he expects him to remain a Pacer and play out the final two years on his contract.
"We don't anticipate having him back until after the All-Star break and by that time I imagine he'll still be a Pacer," O'Brien said. "So all the rumors, if there are still any out there -- and I haven't heard any frankly -- will be for naught." Only O'Neal knows if he'll return from his knee injury, but it sounds like the Pacers are counting on it.
I'm hoping I pulled off a major steal. Cant hurt me really either way. If he doesnt make a return, I can always pick up another temporary FA. Thanks for the update Benjamin.
So I ended up grabbing JO last night. Someone in my league grabbed Bynum, so I figured if HE was going, then I had better get JO fast. I kinda thought JO was on a faster track to come back than Bynum was, so maybe it'll work out ok. I had to drop Alston for him, which hurt, but his mins will go down a bit after the break with their other guard coming back.
So now I'm:
CP
Terry
Maggette
Artest
Dirk
Mike Miller
Amare
Wilcox
Kenyon
Hinrich
Haywood
JO
Arenas
Hopefully three weeks from now, my starting lineup includes both JO and Arenas for an end of the year push.
Yea I feel pretty good about JO for this next time around when he returns. Lets just hope he DOES return. haha....by the way, sick team there Ben. If it all comes together with Arenas and JO, your team will be stacked!!
