Default Who's Better In Their Prime? Carter or DaRozen?

I think it's close, both weren't good defenders.

Vince is on another level. Derozan isn't even better than Lowry.

Both highly overrated in their respectable era's

underwhelming playoff performers

you can't lose betting against DeRozan thou

It's Vince and it's not even remotely close. Derozan is marginally above Lou Williams level, he just happened to play on an extremely deep, well put together roster that could hide most of his flaws in the regular season, until the playoffs rolled around.

Close? lol no. DeRozan doesn't have close to the impact of a prime Carter.

Youtube is great. It's easy to get caught up in the slow transition of how the game is played today and forget some of what we used to see. Watch the skill level of Carter and this isn't even a discussion, he could score and pass in every way imaginable.

It's really surprising when you watch then look at the MVP of today for example who doesn't have the greatest all around offensive game but is very adept and getting foul calls and as such keeping defenders off him when he drives to the rim. In any case Derozan is a good palyer who kudos to him has improved every year but nah. Not close.

Also, while Vince was never a good defensive player he was never horrible. A lot of people seem to think he was terrible or something when he was pretty much below average to average for his career. DeFrozen is legitimately an atrocious defensive player.

DeRozan might hear a longer prime due to the strange arc of Carter's career. He (possibly intentionally) was awful his last half season in Toronto and by the time he was traded to Orlando he was no longer a star while draft mates Nowitzki and Pierce were still stars.

But yeah Carter's best was better than Derozan.

It doesn't matter how long DeRozan's prime is as his prime is nothing special. He puts up nice box score numbers, but his impact is paltry. That's beside the point that he does absolutely nothing in the playoffs. In 5 playoff runs he's NEVER had a positive BPM and this last season was a career low of -4.1. Vince Carter was just a much better player, period.
