I want to hear people's reasoning why Kareem over Magic?
(not saying that Kareem doesn't deserve it, just want to hear why)

Longevity helps a lot here. That, and turning a small market franchise into contenders immediatly at such inexperience is pretty impressive (talking about Milwaukee of course).

Kareem is a much better player than Magic and was the main reason of the Lakers' success in the 80s. Magic was there riding his coattails. Much like Kobe rode Shaq's. Yet Magic and Kobe got all the (undeserved) credits. Originally Posted by Deuce Bigalow

kareem. has only 2 of 6 FMVPS. 66% of their championships. he wasnn't the best man on his team.
russell. (what has already been said)
magic. the one thing that always got me with him, his one thing: his teams were always LOADED .. always. never had to go through struggle.
i think it should be between magic or bird.

The answer is not Kareem, but I suppose he's gonna be 2nd.
I hate the trend of Kareem, because he's absolutely not as good as Magic.
