I wish they could be more realistic with how they direct things to happen. Shane should've easily killed Rick but its stupid bad guy symptom. That whole having to kill the kid scenario where they're too lazy to keep an eye on him and just have to kill him is just ridiculous to me
well on the bright side the previews for future episodes look great.
He wanted to be the alpha male, and to have Lori, Carl and the baby, which will probably end up being his. He thought he could do a better job of protecting the group (though, to him it would be more about protecting himself, Lori and Carl).

Didn't like him til he cut the hair.
On a real note, Rick had no choice but to off this dude, shit was too thick (tension).
Also like how they are revealing peeps turning into zombies w/ out getting bitten.
Similar to Return Of The Living Dead, once someone dies, bitten or not, they became a zombie.
Oh yeah was it true they offed Shane cause he's on another TV show now?[/QUOTE]
the guy who plays shane is a good friend of darabond (the guy who brought season 1 to tv) after he got fired alot of the actors were pissed and ppl have been speculating that shane was one of the actors who wanted to leave the show.
I like the theory Maggie had on Talking Dead about Shane's death.
She said Shane was antagonizing Rick to kill him because he couldn't take it anymore (being in love w/ Lori but not being able to have her).
Makes sense cause he coulda bust a cap in Rick in that field w/ no problem but his story explaining how Rick got shot and killed woulda been lame since Daryl knew the truth about Randall's death.
Maybe he knew even if he killed Rick he couldn't get Lori.
Gotta love that montage of the group slaughtering those zombies during Dale's eulogy.
It didn't look like his intent was lure Rick out there just so that Rick could kill him. Shane wasn't looking for a way to die during the episode, he was trying to kill Randall during the episode (he wanted to ride out with Daryl in place of Rick and he tried to kill him in the barn). It looked to be a spur of the moment type thing when he gave Rick a chance to shoot him. None of what Shane did looked planned out at all. It looked like it was made up as he went along.
