Nets Reach New Deal with Robinson, Waive Padgett

Cliff Robinson's agent announced late Friday that the 6'-10" power forward had reached a tenative agreement on a new contract with the Nets. Terms were not announced, but the new deal is reportedly several hundred thousand dollars less than his old one, which the Nets terminated early in the day. Robinson's agent says he wants to "make amends" for his drug-related suspension. The Nets also announced that they have waived Scott Padgett, who reportedly will receive a $400,000 buyout.
