Default "The Big Shaqtus" watch

Shaq played with a little more energy last night. Rebounding, throwing the outlet, clogging up the lane like he's supposed to. He only scored 4 pts but I dont think the Suns really need him to score a lot. One thing I noticed was the Suns played a little sloppy with him in there. They had 24 TO's which is about 11 more than they average and D' Antoni went outside of his 8 man rotation ( give Boston some credit for that). It seemed like the Suns were changing there game a little to accomodate Shaq which is what I thought they would have to do because Shaq isn't entirely built to play their style of ball. I know it's only his second game, so maybe we'll see some different results after they get a few games under their belt. Suns are going to get truly tested with the half court offense now that they have the big guy in there. The Lakers are going to be a tough match up for them because they can play both half court offense and run the floor with their big men.

P.S - I did enjoy the side show between KG and Amare.

Interestingly, I do think the Celtics lost that game for themselves. They shot horribly on way too many wide open shots. You cant win games if you do that. Their defense was better than the Suns last night, which is what kept it close at times.

Anyway, Shaq is still in the "honeymoon" stage, as I have predicted. It will not last, IMO. I predicted last night that he will probably incur an injury of some sort within the next 10 games which will put him on the bench. I am gonna stick to that prediction (what do i have to lose?)... haha

I agree, Boston missed a lot of shots they usually make. They also got sloppy on some fast break opportunities and ended up turning the ball over. I think if KG was 100%, the out come may have been different...

boston played horrible on offense, defense they actually did pretty well keeping the suns offense honest..but they could not buy a shot..i hate the celtics and i almost felt bad for them...
shaq was ok got alot of rebounds but that's it
there was that one layup from the free throw line where he circled around three celts who all just stood there as this slow motion giant whirled by them, i don't think they ever though he wa going to try and lay up the ball because they literally just stood and watched...lol

Yeah, if you hold the suns to 85 pts, you should win easy. Boston just didn't come with any sort of offensive game last night.

Anytime Shaq gets an offensive board, just foul him and he'll miss the free throws.

I'm not concerned. There's many ways to beat the suns. The rebounding got better but now they got weaker in other areas offensively.

QFT you don't have to look any further. I don't care what type of bench or team you're packing, if your two stars are getting like 20 touches each and scoring 5/25 combined from the field..You're not going to win let alone the any PO game.

I wasn't disappointed too much in their defense, but their offense was just horrible especially in the 1st quarter. 20 percent?

Yep, fast breaks, half court transitions, and prerimeter shots (unless Shaq kicks it out).

I know the Suns are missing Marion's threes.

It would be kinda ironic to see the Lakers employ "hack a shaq"... lol

I look forward to your analysis.

It was Ironic either way.

It was a routine that Phil Jackson invented when he was coaching the bulls....years later shaq ended up with Phil. haha

Imagine we held them to 85 the other night? that would have been a 45pt win.... LOL
