He's top 10, maybe top 5.

"In the past 25 seasons, the winner of the MVP has been on teams that have averaged 61 wins. James is a part of that trend; in the three full seasons in which he won the MVP, his teams averaged 64 wins. He also won the award in the lockout season in 2011-12, when the Heat went 46-20. Quite often it is an award to the team as much as the individual, and the Cavs, who started the season 19-20 before going on their run, may have trouble helping him in this regard."

So a regular season award is now dictated by playoff performance?
What other narratives shall we bend to fit the Lebron criteria?

I report you
Re: why is espn pushing lebron for a 5th mvp when the cavs have the 9th best record?
I don't get why they push so hard for LeBron (who is playing alongside 2 stars) when Westbrook has better stats, does way better on the eye test (remember bron's "defense"?) and had a D-league level team at the start of the season.

He said curry, davis and harden were better players. He wasn't talking about mvp.

I wasn't referring to their MVP status. OP said they were better overall players, which they clearly aren't. Replace Lebron on the Cavs with any of those players and the Cavs have a much worse record.

Laker fans don't have the greatest reading comprehension.

So where is it that ESPN is pushing hard for LeBron to win MVP?

Before all lebron had was stats. He was flawed. Not fundamental. Awkward. Lacked heart. Lacked alpha mentality. Lacked a midrange game. Lacked footwork. Lacked everything except a body and stats from imposing his unfair advantages in a stat padding mentality
Now he still has all those holes and doesnt even have the insane numbers anymore
So im saying guys like harden, curry, westrbook are better because they have the skills and alpha drive. Theyre trustworthy to lead a team in the playoffs more than lebron. And ontop of it all their stats now compare to lebrons and in some areas are better
So why the **** would anyone put lebron over them noww?????

They're more trustworthy because of their vast playoff success and you know this because of their regular season play

Your logic is so flawed. How the fck is he putting up 26/7/6 when based off of what your saying he has no basketball skills?
And LMAO @ how desperate you are to push your agenda forward despite all evidence suggesting against it. "So im saying guys like harden, curry, westrbook are... trustworthy to lead a team in the playoffs more than lebron."

He's 3rd in the MVP race... on a team that's 36-22 on pace for 51 wins (probably end up at around 55). Which seems about right, since Kobe was 3rd and 4th in the MVP race in seasons the Lakers had 42 and 45 wins respectively.
