Charge/Sentence for false 911 call reporting armed hostage situation?
Today on my small college campus there were multiple state, county, and city cops to go along with a swat force. Apparently they received a call around 6pm cst of a report of an armed man holding someone hostage in a house on campus. They responded to the call and from my dorm I could see atleast 15 cop cars and a swat truck. Five hours later after a stand-off and sending a robot into the house they determined that the house was empty and determined the phone call as a prank. I mean it's gotta be pretty easy to trace the call right, as long as it wasn't on a payphone? What kind of sentence do you think the caller would receive?
