but why Christianity? Say the hindus are right, wouldnt you be better off not believing in anything rather than pissing off ganesh (and, more importantly, shiva) by claiming a false faith?

Thats why Pascals wager is bogus for religion. Its not a believe or not believe proposition. There is so much diversity of religious belief (even just within Xtianity) that you arent just choosing yes vs no.

this isnt really statistics. Its probabilities yes, but based on nothing. There is no attempt to actually apply statistics in your source. I suggest you take a statistics source, cause otherwise you look like a dumbass.

Oh my gosh. Really? These aren't based on nothing, these are probabilities on how likely it is that one person can fulfill all the Messianic prophecies, and they are slim.

That was my point.

You guys are thick-headed.

shall have nothing to fear or regret.

God/jesus can suck my balls through my drawers . . . but only because his followers made me think that way. If he's indeed real, then he knows my soul.

the second problem is that all major religions make prophetic claims and they all assert that at least some of these have been fulfilled so far. does that mean they are all successful in describing future events? or does it mean they've managed to be lucky on some claims, and managed to make other events fit their claims?

i'm sure i could find a muslim list of similar prophecies they claim fulfilled. why does your list of prophecies hold more weight than theirs?
