    Default Computer related: Wi-Fi extenders

I notice half my house gets coverage with our router. The other half including the backyard is dead. In the basement, located directly under the wireless router there's good service. However as it channels through further it's weak.

Anyone familiar with wifi extenders and how they work? Are they worth it? How do they work? (plug & play) Brand suggestions and what affordable ones are out there that are fairly cheap to get the job done?

Here is one product I found: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GAN...ef=mp_s_a_1_11

    Thanks.

Personally, what I did was take my old router and turn it into an extender itself.

Great example and it works perfectly for me: http://lifehacker.com/how-to-extend-...uter-915783308

You just have to find the right place in your house.
