I never call it when I use it. I just do it two or three times in a row, then they'll no it ain't no luck.

i don't know why more players don't use the glass... my favorite move is beating my man off the dribble into a pull up and banking the shot because it's such a high percentage shot.

i just dont know

back in the day, coaches required that you use the board (there were no glass backboards) on the angles.

my brother told me that sam jones of the celtics was the very best at banking shots in

i agree with the comments that suggested that guys these days prefer to look good and swish in a shot than use the glass: style over substance

People are stupid for not using it when the occasion arises. It softens up your shot and has a much higher percentage of getting the friendly bounce.

isaiah thomas would agree

he had the prettiest bank shot when he was in the lane inside of 15 ft. he had a wonderful arch on it and rarely had that shot blocked. when it didnt even hit rim, the ball came off the net in a really cool swinging fashion. everytime he hit that shot i was amazed he even got it off

That's the reason I don't use it and also I've noticed when I try to use it I do a little more aiming than actually shooting.

I don't use the backboard on anything besides layups/ floaters on an angle and elbow shots. so pretty much at thing 5ft and closer.

that is true about different backboards. the team i coach plays at two different gyms, one high school gym with really nice glass backboards, and one middle school gym with the polycarbonate backboards (the white backboards basically). the glass backboards you have to have a little touch to use the glass, but the polycarbonate backboards you can litterally throw the ball hard off the glass and it will go in. one of my players can't shoot at all... he's very strong and athletic but has no skills... when we play at the high school i tell him to try to swish it cause he shoots to hard for the backboard, but at the middle school i tell him to use the backboard cause its more forgiving. i perfer the glass backboard myself cause it takes more skill but is usually more consistent.
