I'm an unbiased fan, I love both Lebron and Kobe.

I'd take Kobe right now, he's just more polished at this point in their careers. His ability to drill the jumpshot is key, it can't be overstated when comparing the two players.

We all seen what Lebron can do when his jumpshot is on, see game 5 against Detroit. The league better pray he doesn't figure it out in the playoffs against those top-tier defenses.

either that or he sees kobe on the verge of winning a title without him and wants to be on his good side so kobe doesnt repay the favor of inquiring about the taste of his ass.

In the playoffs I'd still take Kobe but he hasn't done anything to be considered better than Lebron so far this year. Lebron has made a team filled with decent role players a top 3 team, something I don't know if anyone else in this league could have done. The defense argument also doesn't hold up, Lebron's been better there this season too. Kobe might be better when he "tries" but he doesn't try enough. I seriously can't think of a single angle in which to portray Kobe as the better player so far this season.
I can give you one - Lakers sweeped the Cavs and the Celtics.

Since we're taking Shaq's words as a gospel.....

He also agreed 1000000.289% that Jordan was the GOAT.

Not that it matters imo, but just saying.

And I too believe Kobe is better than Bron.

At first I used to lean towards Bron, but I've been more critical of their games and analyzing them both more than before, but more importantly "comparing them" to each other.

Kobe's better jumpshot sealed it for me.

And I actually c/s Shaq.

If Kobe's a 10 than Bron is a 9.5 or so.

Once he improves his jumper tho....

Speaking of how Shaq's ass taste,we must remember that Shaq was praising Kobe last season before the infamous freestyle surfaced.

Shaq doesn't deserve to win another NBA title.

I'd imagine it'd take a lot to get a 7'1", 335 pound man drunk.

i dont understand this logic.

the two of them are seperated by less than 1 minute of playing time per night, yet on a nightly basis lebron averages 28 points on 49% shooting and 7 rebounds/7 assists. kobe averages 27 points on 47% shooting and 5 rebounds/5 assists.

so kobe's pretty jumper outweighs lebrons extra 1 point, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists per night on less shot attempts?

IMO people need to stop equating the more dangerous player (bryant) to being the better player over the course of a season. kobe is more capable of going lights out on a given night than lebron is. but lebron is the consistently better player night in and night out, IMO.

I have to admit this is the best Kobe-lebron thread.

I haven't seen any personal insults...yet. lol

As a laker fan I have to show 100% support to my boy and Im sure cavs fans will do the same for lebron...because they are supposed to. Other wise they would be terrible fans.

Now who's better? They both play different positions. Kobe's style is that of a pure shooter whereas lebron does most of his damage in the paint. Nothing wrong with that as I said one is a forward and the other is a guard.

The sad part about this debate is the statistics people use...I think lebron averages about 2 more rebounds a game than Kobe and 2 more assists.

Don't forget their offensive systems are much different. So in cleveland with the offense running through lebron, he would have more assists because he's out there being a scorer and a distributor, and because Z is the only good defensive rebounder on that team, you have lebron in there with him.

Now you look at the Triangle offense. The stats are more spread out in areas such as assists per game. Kobe has played in the triangle almost all his life even when he was a ball hog back in his younger days. The point is everyone on that team is going to have 2-5 assists.

Even the triangle point guards don't average many assists. I think the only point guard the lakers had in the triangle to average more than 6 was gary payton.

As for rebounding, I have to add Kobe is playing with Pau, Lamar, and Bynum who also went down with an injury. All those guys together get a lot of rebounds so for kobe to get about 6 rebounds is pretty impressive.

Kobe is also one of the better perimeter defenders in the league which says a lot for an offensive superstar.

Lebron James' D is very good as well, but will only get better with age and experience.

Lebron also needs to improve in some of his offensive weaknesses.

I don't buy this crap from Shaq that Kobe can do no wrong and that they planned out their feuds to help market the NBA. Shaq made fun of Kobe last year after the NBA Finals. They always say that your true colors show by how you treat your inferiors not your equals. Kobe was probably at an all time low after the loss.
