Re-watched Stoker for the 3rd time. Still a 9/10.

Woman in the Window and Scarlet Street were on back to back Wednesday night on TCM. Both are public domain and really hard to find; two great movies with some synergy despite the plots being unrelated.

Pacific Rim - 7.5/10

God dammit this movie was extremely long

So much fighting and action, actually a little too much to the point where I missed no action in godzilla

It wasn't bad though. Love scene kind of ruined it

The action was pretty good but the robots seemed bloated and not swift

There is also a sequel based on this ending. Not as good as the original, but if you are a fan of the 1st it is watchable. Kind of a Boondock Saints to Boondock Saints 2 magnitude of a drop off.

It's very hard to find a decent copy. You can find any shit rate movie on Youtube; public domain or not.

Those guys are pretty badass, but Hollywood is over doing it. I've been enlisted for two years and have only met five Navy Seal soldiers. One thing I did notice is just how disconnected they are for everyone else. They came into supply to get ammo for the range and didn't even acknowledge we were there. Oh well, we all fight for the same cause.

22 Jump Street 8/10

Almost as good as the first, but not quite. The meta-jokes were hilarious, and Ice Cube was better in this one. The villains were much worse than Rob Riggle and Dave Franco.

I haven't been able to sit through that whole movie. Seems so awful.

Her 7.4/10

Score and cinematography were spot on. Pretty good film. Cyber sex was pretty awkward, but it was a fun look at what could be the near future.

Short Term 12

Movie about troubled kids and adults with a troubled past so you know it will be emotionally intense but the characters were handled very well. The director had some really good timing and editing which kept you off balance and really in the room for some of the more intense scenes. Soundtrack felt natural and the ending was satisfying without feeling trite. Its a movie I'd probably like more than most but it was definitely an objectively strong film.

9/10

Frozen River - 9/10

An intense, gritty and emotional film. Really great stuff. Melissa Leo was fantastic and absolutely deserved the Oscar nomination she got for this performance.
