its just psychology and mind games man... by saying he didnt know about Baylors career he's in essence belittling baylors significance and importance as a man. Sterling is implying Baylors accomplishments were insignificant and he backed that up with the comment "he was working in a mail order business before this". It's all a power thing, Sterling is trying to show he's the top dog here dealing with a peasant. What a terrible man, but hey I'm about to fly out to L.A., I'd be the Clippers GM for 3,000 a month...

$3,000 a month for a high stress job for an a-hole owner seems awfully low. thats less than a trash man makes.

but yeah, he is belittling baylor's accomplishments. he didn't think he was just hiring some guy from a mail order company to be an NBA GM. i'd like to see the whole transcript but it seems way out of context.
