So how do you feel about the Jason Terry, Devin Harris starting backcourt?

It's good but not perfect. But options are limited. What do you think of them together?

A disaster waiting to happen. Sac is the perfect example when they had Bibby and Bobby Jackson on the floor at the same time, and I remember distinctly Michael Finley abusing BJax in the post. Any big 2guard period is goingt to make this a mis match of huge proportions for Dallas.

But it also won us 67 games last year. So if it ain't broke....
But it also lost us the series against GS. JRich anybody..

HATE it. Terry can't defend his shadow and Harris commits too many stupid fouls when forced to defend bigger players.

The Mavs will not win anything in the playoffs unless they can get at least one of the SGs to be able to pull a legit 25-30 minutes of PT every game.

To be honest, I'm not that thrilled about it. Jet would be best in a 6th man role bringing instant offense off the bench. And he would still be invaluable as a clutch shooter come 4th quarter offensive sets. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there is anyone to step in and take the starting sg role. Avery has said Devin will start at pg. And he's made comments that they need Jet in whatever role he plays. Now does that mean as sg or off the bench?

hey nobody, not even Avery Johnson has said that Jason Terry will start at the 2 spot. The only guaranteed spots so far in the starting lineup is at the PG, SF, and PF. Mayve Eddie Jones or Devean George could start at the 2 to guard the bigger guards. Both have range and can knock down the 3's.

yea but both of them are kinda of mediocre shooters that will be left wide open to build a brick house come playoff time. Then if Harris doesn't get a consistent jumper defenders will back off him taking away his dribble drive. After that they will look at Damp or Diop and laugh. Then they will double Dirk and force Howard to beat you, which odds are he won't. So pretty much the Mavs hopes are in Terry and Stack being be consistent, something neither have ever been.

Of course, "we like this team, it won 67 games! There is nothing wrong with it!"

Outside situational match-ups with San Antonio, it sucks. I don't want to see it again but unfortunately all signs point to that happening again when Avery gets agitated at the lack of production from the two-guard spot (courtesy of either George, Buckner or possibly EJ we don't know yet).

i agree... Stack might not be a good defender... but at least he has some size... i'll pick him over Jet or Harris...

Terry came off the bench in the first preseason game, and Avery has mentioned that will be his role this season.

I actually don't think it is that bad of an idea. From what I've heard off Dallas sport talks, Harris was working out this summer and put on some pounds. If he could get close to guarding like Joe Dumars did back in the day with Isiah, a small guard backcourt wouldn't be that bad...and boy would they have speed to burn.
