This isn't directly after the draft, is it?

My first pick was Areas and I traded him for Bosh and Maggette. I guess the person I traded with doesn't know mags is a starter. I also traded Pierce for Brandon Roy and Luke Walton.

Is my team bad?

You traded arguably the best player in fantasy basketball last season that's going into a contract year for a top 15 big with plantar fasciitis issues and a one dimensional injury waiting to happen? Who did you drop to add Maggette?

I'm not sure about the Pierce move either. Who did you end up dropping to add Walton?

Bosh is a top 15 big man? Name me 14 big men better than him. GO

I dropped Gerald Green.

Bosh averaged 23/11

Do you know 14 other big men that do that?

i dont think the arenas trade or pierce trade was very smart

maggete and bosh dont even compare to what arenas can get you. now there's no balance. not that many 3's or assists. ur big stacked. try and get a refund. luke walton is available in all of my leagues still. he may not even start.

but i like ur bigs though. try and get some more pgs and 3pt shooters

Not a terrible roster, but it doesn't strike me as great either...

As much I can see the lure of trading one for two, Gilbert Arenas belongs at the top of the fantasy basketball rankings, and can fill up stats easier than a lot of people seem to think. If anything, I might have traded Bosh and Maggs to get Arenas, that's how valuable he is. As for giving up Pierce for Roy and Walton, it just wasn't worth it. At this point they're two solid role players on a fantasy team, but on any given night Paul Pierce is capable of putting up numbers as good as those two combined, even with his two new teammates on either side of him.

The other knock I have is that you're probably putting way too much faith in rookies and unproven young guys in general. You have 3 guys on the roster that haven't even played a game in the NBA yet, and for fantasy purposes it's too early to just assume any of them are going to contribute enough to be worth taking up a roster spot. Then you have Bynum (don't even get me started), Bargnani, and Roy. Granted I think those last two have every chance of having a great year, and BRoy in particular is a solid pick. Bynum on the other hand has yet to show that he's anywhere near cracking his potential, despite all the man-love he gets from Laker fans. He can almost be lumped in with the rookies, because who knows if this is the year he finally does something worth noticing.

My advice at this point, assuming you won't be able to get Arenas or Pierce back, is to reverse the trend and see if you can pull off trading two of your rookies for a solid veteran, particularly a scorer - if you like the idea of staying young, I'd trade Nick Young/Thornton for an established Ben Gordon in a second.

You need another PG, and a couple scorers not named Stephen Jackson. I do like your rotation of bigs.

You misunderstood me. Bosh is a top 15 player that is a big. I could have worded it better.

Oh okay, I agree.

I agree that my moves were risky but no risk, no pay. I traded LT the first week I had him in fantasy football and it payed off.
