Without Republicans, Democrats would cannibalize each other in a matter of months.

Lol. I guess that's why areas with the highest concentration of Democrats have the greatest wealth disparity between rich and poor.

Edit: Take for example Washington DC. Votes OVER 90% democrat. White liberal households net worth is EIGHTY ONE TIMES that of black households.

Yeah let the Dems separate. And watch the gated community white liberals turn their area into fvcking Nazi Germany. Either that, or poor blacks and latinos pushed on by socialists and anarchists will burn them to the fvcking ground haha

If Democrats ever separated into their own areas. Businesses would collapse. For the first time ever, Democrats have a more favorable view of socialism that capitalism according to polls. You think the race obsessed socialist leaders are going to stand by and watch wealthy Asian, Jewish, and white businesses accumulate wealth?

The victimization complex within the Democrat party will eventually cause the have-nots to rip apart any successful enterprise. After their country is in ruins, they will seek out China for help rather than work with Republicans and follow their blueprint to normality. That would cause an all out war between the Republican areas, China, and the Democrat area because there's no way the Republicans are going to let China set up camp next to them.

It's almost as if these dummies dont remember what happened when the two sides were pitted against each other 150 years ago.

And the gap since then has widened.

yeah, want to talk about a wealth gap... tell me what slaves were earning in antebellum mississippi compared to their massas

the deep south has never recovered from that ass whooping lincoln and co. gave them way back when. and now they can't even keep their participation trophies

AT LEAST 110 CONFEDERATE MONUMENTS HAVE BEEN TAKEN DOWN IN THE LAST 3 YEARS

the south shall never rise again, and if they try... we got general sherman on speed dial

Flawed. When you say red states and blue states you're assuming that no one in a red state voted for the Dems and no one in a blue state voted for the Republicans. I live in a red state but we have a Dem governor. My city has a Dem mayor as well as a majority on the city council.

Yea the cities where all the money and progress is being made are D, while the further out into the woods you go it will heavy lean R. Id also assume the richers in the upper class suburbs lean R to combat socialism.

Well what goes with each side?

Would they have economic ties?

Does the blue side get all the tech people, most of the entertainment industry, nfl, nba, the vast majority of scientists(6 percent said they were republican in the first report that came up) and so on? We keep Amazon, Tesla, Microsoft, and all that?

Would the red side have to rebuild all these things on their side or just buy access?

If its two separate countries treating eachother with contempt its very different than if its just two halves of one whole.

If you put all the blue people on the west side they would not only have most of the tech resources they would have the land to grow the crops that feed America. Might be better off doing it north south.....but how do you really think the south does without being subsidized by the north? Parts of the deep south are pretty much the WNBA being kept afloat with federal money like the NBA does womens ball.

This would never work for either side because too much of what makes America what it is comes from each side.

If you actually tried to have each side take with it what it brought....I think the initial shock of all blue state shit being gone would make the red side worse to live in right away. But long term the red side would be safer...at least to be poor in.

Which side is more likely to thrive economically and socially?

This is a general policy vs general policy debate that would require more information... specifically what the main industries are, what the available natural resources are, and whether certain party policies would be adapted given that there is no longer a true opposition to drive support for some of the policies that are forwarded simply on pretense.

For instance, what is the United Conservative States' policy on public education? College debt? What is their policy on collective bargaining and unions? What does their healthcare system look like? Do they go ahead and repeal and/or modify certain sections of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and 1965 Voting Rights Act? Do they repeal Roe vs. Wade?

Consider the same and similar questions for the United Liberal States. How do they approach tax policy... especially for businesses? How do they approach military spending? College debt? Conservationism vs the use of natural resources?

There are a lot of variables, but ultimately, I suspect that both countries would rapidly and significantly change their main party platforms as they adapt. For instance, if the UCS does away with collective bargaining, the advantage that corporations who base themselves in the UCS would have due to lower taxes could be blunted by the loss of skilled labor as many individuals may simply travel to the ULS in search of better educational opportunities and higher paying jobs. The UCS may then turn towards even more automation in manufacturing. Ironically, the ULS might then lower taxes to more effectively attract workers from the UCS and enforce more stringent immigration laws to moderate the entrance of UCS citizens. Their advantage in academia and research could also make for an interesting juxtaposition.

This would actually be a great premise for a tv show. It has a "Man in the High Castle" feel to it that could be very interesting with some good writers.

I imagine with all the old christians they would have roe would get overturned by their new supreme court. And the abortion clinics just across the border would be doing some epic numbers with all the red staters sneaking off with their pregnant girlfriends to get it done.

Also...

A lot more young people lean left than right. Do they move when they switch parties? How do you account for republicans with democrat children? They just...move?

All this would do is split the country for a couple generations. 16 year old children of republicans are still not gonna care about gay marriage or "traditional" values unless they are straight up indoctrinated like they do the muslim children in the middle east. Which I suppose they might be...because a huge number of schools would be religious affiliated.

Imagine half of this country being taught about Adam and Eve in history classes.....

Would students grow up and want to come to the Democratic states of America to go to college?

Bob Jones and BYU type schools would be the red states ivy league.

Not to mention healthcare. Generally the best hospitals and home healthcare organizations that attract the best and most skilled doctors, surgeons, nurses, nurse practitioners, physical therapists and occupational therapists are based in blue states. Are older individuals going to travel to the ULS for elective medical care? How would they pay for care without Medicare? How would they afford for-profit insurance as they age?
