Default This one's for Gigantes....and music fans

When Manny's Music in New York City closed its doors, Manny's grand daughter took all the autographed photos off the wall and put them on a website. The Beatles, Dylan, The Who, The Stone, Sly Stone and lots of others used to shop there. Lots of cool old instrument ads too.

On a related note, a few months ago I'm watched an infomercial for classic country music. Watching for the greats like Johnny Cash and Buck Owens and watching for the kitschy outfits and crazy old video clips.

And it's hosted by Kenny Rogers, except he looks nothing like Kenny Rogers. He's gotten horrible plastic surgery. So the next day I tell my wife about it. I say you have to see this infomercial with Kenny Rogers, it will blow your mind and I tell her all about it. Then like a week later it comes on and I say...this is that infomercial I was telling you about and after a couple minutes of clips, Kenny Rogers comes back on and she watches for him like three minutes and turns to me and goes

Why did you want me to watch this again?

I wanted to show you what Kenny Rogers looks like today?

Is he going to be on this?

    That's him. Right now.

    No****ingway that's Kenny Rogers!

He had a couple of monster hits here in the US topping both the country and pop charts
Though he has been most successful with country audiences, he has charted more than 120 hit singles across various music genres, topped the country and pop album charts for more than 200 individual weeks in the United States alone and has sold over 130 million records worldwide [1], making him one of the highest-selling artists of all time.[3]

The Gambler and Coward of the County are two of the best story songs ever.

He even got name checked by the Beastie Boys twice

Sweet and sour like a tangerine
Fresh like a box of Krispy Kremes
Kenny Rogers' "Gambler" is my gambling theme
Mix Master Mike with the scratch routine
