In hindsight trading him was a bad move. At the time however Chris Bosh needed help in the middle and it seemed like we would be able to make the second round at least if JO was even 70% of his former self. Trade didn't pan out and Bosh left. Shit happens.

yes and a lot of Shit happens with the raps and has been happening.

Obviously it wasn't explicitly stated but it's not that difficult to figure out using some common sense. It's like Dwane Casey saying that the very thought of tanking disgusts him and then rolling out a starting lineup of Uzoh/Anderson/A.Johnson/Davis/Mcgloire and having our best players as healthy scratches. Nobody is gonna say that they are making moves mainly for the benefit of the 2nd best guy on the team. You gotta stroke the franchise guys ego while he's there.

Actually it "almost" was explicity stated.

At that time Bosh let the world know in his blogs and self promo websites that he considered himself a pure 4 and the Raptors needed a pure 5 to bang... that those very factors would enter into his thoughts about resigning with any team (insert coy comment about staying with Raptors)....I guess that didnt apply to Miami.

Cant find the thread but the quote was posted on these boards.
