Default Trading Kirilenko

Ok, people... before you hurl acidic venom on me, hear me out. These thoughts are completely my own and do not reflect the opinions of the rest of the Jazz forum. Andrei Kirilenko is a flippin stud. He is invaluable to our team and i know the very thought of trading Kirilenko hasn't entertained a single mind of yours for one second. It's out of the question, you say. But here's my reasoning... while Kirilenko IS invaluable to the Jazz, how long WILL he be? I realize he's what? only 25? But let's look at AK's style. The guy plays like a coked-up daffy duck on the court. It's great now cuz he's young and has the body for it. His style absolutely wreaks havoc cuz he has endless energy.

But what about when he hits 35? or even 30? And the pounds start adding on? Perhaps more than most NBA players, I can totally see his game taking a major dive the moment his body starts limiting his goofy-yet-deceiving crossovers and soaring swats-from-behind. He relies on a light and slim body to stay quick. PLUS, he plays so chaotically, he's conducive to injury (something we've already seen plenty of in his young career). All I'm suggesting is that we shouldn't keep him absolutely untouchable. If we were able to trade him for some young stud like dwight howard or richard jefferson or ginobli or an Andre Iguodola/ Kyle Korver package, we should keep our options open. Even KOC has mentioned if the right deal came along that would improve our team, we'd consider it. Heck, I think Minnesota would be stupid not to take AK47 and say Giricek and draft picks for Garnett. That trade would help their building process and make us instant contenders.

Now let your hate mail begin.

The only concern I have with AK is his health; I am quite unconcerned about his ageing in the years to come. He's clever, and he's talented - if he notices that his game isn't on top anymore, he'll change his style.

AK is and should remain the Jazz's cornerstone. But that's just my two cents.

I agree with Heretik. As much as I like Igoudala and such, I just can't imagine AK any where else. Maybe 'cause I still link him to when Stockton/Malone were still playing.....

Hopefully he will adjust his style a little bit and grow with the rest of this young team.

Garnett would be one of the few guys I'd trade AK for. Not that these teams would go for it, but Amare and Lebron are also on that short list...

Default Trade Scenario..

trust me it will never happen..but...

Utah trades..

Andrei Kirilenko (f)
Carlos Boozer (f/c)
Gordan Giricek (g/f)

to Milwaukee for..

Michael Redd (g)
Bobby Simmons (f)
Dan Gadzuric (c)
first round pick

C - Jarron Collins/Dan Gadzuric/Rafael Araujo
Pf - Mehmet Okur/Paul Millsap
Sf - Bobby Simmons/Matt Harpring/Roger Powell
Sg - Michael Redd/Ronnie Brewer/CJ Miles
Pg - Deron Williams/Derek Fisher

C - Andrew Bogut/Brian Skinner
Pf - Charlie Villanueva/Carlos Boozer
Sf - Andrei Kirilenko/David Noel/Ersan Ilyasova
Sg - Gordan Giricek/Charlie Bell
Pg - Mo Williams/Steve Blake/Lynn Greer

...looks fair for both teams..contracts match up...
