The team cut down the lead in the first 5 minutes of the 4th before Kobe returned. That was instrumental. That gave LA momentum and confidence, and a sense of urgency. Kobe hit some big shots late in the 4th and OT, but also missed some and took some ill-advised shots.

He definitely is not the reason LA won tonight; Nash, Hill and MWP were far more effective then him tonight. His performance in OT was big though.

Look at it this way. Howard took only 8 shots and a majority of those were put backs or alley oops.

He got into foul trouble earlier and couldn't get it going.

Look at it as Kobe taking Dwight's shots for him. I rather have Kobe shoot Dwight's attempts than Dwight.

No big deal. I counted 5 shots where he was bailing out the team because the shot clock was down and those ending the quarters. Like I said, I want Kobe to shoot than watching his stats, like the recent Lebron quotes.

Well berote the 4th he was shooting 28% or something.. finished 39-40%. Should of finished around 50%+ with 6-10 FT attempts, most of those shots weren't even close because you could argue that he was fouled/and or tried to sell it (resulting in a not close shot). To the poster above, Kobe doesn't care about his FG % like LeBron. LeBron will take less shots and more easier shots to do so, Kobe is obviously 10x more creative than LeBron and takes more chances (when it comes to scoring not overall play-making).

around 10 of those shots wouldn't have counted if the refs called fouls for him, then hed end up at 45 - 50% fg

My biggest respect to Kobe Bryant. only he can command so much love and respect even after a horrid game. If this was Pau he would have been sentence to death and spot in public by the Media and the fans. Nash ain't going to be able to handle such heavy minutes during the regular season and be effective in the POs. Lakers better build on their rotations and plays on this win or they're not getting further than the second round. and I think I'm being generous there.

    Come on, seriously!?
    You're going to compare 4-11 with 16 of 41.

    What?

4-11 isn't even in the same galaxy as 41 shots.

Oh but you don't understand. The refs screwed Kobe. He shoulda have a gazillion FTs so that makes it alright.

He did fine. The reason y he shot more was because no one was hitting their shots.
