Default The Big 3

What will the Big 3's stats look like this season?
Will their stats decline or increase?
Where will Boston finish in the standings?
Who will take the last shot?

You really think Garnett is gonna score more than Pierce?

by who

before Detriot was about to Chris Webber
I might have agreed to this

but now Im not so sure
I only see 2 real threats now
Chicago and Maybe Mia depending on Wades return!
and if NJ gets J O'Neal then them too.

Chicago is prolly the team to beat right now but only defensively.
If they could score in the post they'd be a lock for the finals.

Pierce: 25 ppg, 6rpg, 3 apg. Pierce is trying to get down to his college weight of 230 to become a better defender. This will also positively effect his scoring game because the quicker he is, the better he is at getting to the basket. Thus, a possible decrease in shots won't affect his scoring average too severely...besides, as the longest-tenured Celtic star, he's still probably going to be deferred to a little more than Allen and Garnett. The rebounding will probably stay at normal levels, slght chance it dips by 1 if Rivers makes him focus more on running out and the team has firm faith in Garnett, Perkins, and Powe to control the defensive board. The assists may even dip to 2, because Pierce, by nature, is a scorer and with less doubles as well as Garnett running much of the offense he'll get to focus on what he does best. He's been trying to be Grant Hill when he's much more like George Gervin.

Allen: 20 ppg, 4 rpg, 4 apg. Will assume a greater portion of the pg duties (especially when Rondo is sitting and one of the chuckers is at point) so should keep the apg high, but as the second-best perimeter scorer will probably sacrifice the largest part of his offensive game of any of the big three. Will have very little rebounding duty, so hat 4 might even be a 3. His focus will largely be on upping the tempo.

Garnett: 24 ppg, 12 rpg, 5 apg, 2 bpg. I added the "bpg" because, along with Perkins, it will be his duty to protect the paint, and I can't see him getting blocks at a lower per-minute rate than Al Jefferson did. Minnie fans have repeatedly said he didn't block more shots because he had a roving defensive role. Well, the roving should end, because each member of the starting five will be, at least, an average defender (and if Pierce is dedicated the d could, in fact, be good across the board). I expect hm to average 5 assists because, aside from Rondo's jumper he'll be surrounded by capable finishers so should at least keep pace with his normal assists, and if he wants to play in the paint it's all his (Perkins isn't going to demand a lot of touches, obviously) so 24 points is within reach with all the perimeter scoring to keep the d more honest than is healthy. But that number may sink to 22 or 23.

They'll stay firm for 2 seasons and then we may see decline.

Where will Boston finish in the standings?
Top of the EC, but may be behind some WC team(s). 55+ wins.

Who will take the last shot?
Reggie Miller...hopefully.
