Default Twin's weight loss

How do you feel about it? He went from 260 to 235 this summer which has both its positives and negatives. Sure this may help his knee which has been troubling him since high school and he will have less weight to hold up, but come playoff time it may hurt us having a smaller Twin. He may not be able to hold his own as well against the Shaqs or JO's of the league. What do you think?

Well one of the reasons he did so good against Shaq was becuase of him taking those charges/flopping, But It still might hurt us a bit and as for JO,Jo will always have his way, Hes too quick for Twin, but Twin will find away to guard him just like he finds a way to guard everyone else. I think its gonna be a good thing for him, He'll be more healthy becuase of his knees and maybe he'll be a bit quicker and be able to jump a little more to get some more boards and maybe more then 2 points a game. We'll see though seasons about to start, We'll find out the positives and negatives then.

i like your positive outlook, whaley, but it does bother me a little bit...

if he needs to keep off that much weight at this stage of his career it's not a very good sign to me. it's hard to imagine he had much fat to lose so he most likely shed 25 pounds of muscle. who's going to guard the big bodies like shaq and yao and so forth? because i don't want to see krstic have to do that.

if we could somehow rent mutombo back every once in a while i would love it...

Yeah I would love to have another big man that could jump in for Twin, But the thing I look at is either Twin over weight and missing games because of an injury, or have a Twin thats only 25 lighter, but will be able to stay the whole season.and To me 25 lbs isn't that much of a difference unless its going from muscle to fat then thats not could but if its still muscle thats good. But it could blow right up in his face. hopefully not and maybe now he'll be able to get up and down the court a little faster becuase there won't be so much weight and trouble on his knees.

It just seems strange that RJ weights more than Twin now.

I know, I dunno yet what I feel about RJ gaining that much weight. I guess ehll be able to drive and just muscle his way threw people, and Post up on the smaller guys that guard him, also it allows us to put him at the 4 and play with a small lineup which will make us faster.

I'm confident he'll keep his speed, at least he's not Artest at 260.

And At least hes not Artest for a lot of different reasons, we like our players to play as many games as possible not see how many times they can get suspended in a year.
