Obviously its not a big deal and the organization that called him out is not making a big deal out of it...not filing a suit or chargning a crime, just making the public aware.

Two things:

1. The "big deal" is that the word he used could have been easily replaced with idiot, jerk, a-hole, anything. They don't want a term referring to gays to be equated with idiot, jerk, a-hole or whatever other word.

2. Part of this organizations function is to point these things out and tell the world its wrong to use words describing gays as insults. Its what they do. They beleive strongly in it. Making the public aware of casual gay slurs is as important to them as beating the Spurs is to Kobe.
