They don't overpower you, and they rely on their defense to make plays as opposed to blowing hitters away. NY is pretty low as far as defensive rankings go, so you also have to take that into consideration, considering Wang is a groundball pitcher.

If youve got an offense like they have all u need is decent pitching. Right now we cant even get a starter to go 5 innings

wrong. In the playoffs, good pitching shuts down good hitting. Trust me, as a Rangers fan, I know this.

The Yankees don't have a terrible bullpen. After they all get settled down Vizcaino and Proctor should be good enough to get the Ball to Rivera. Myers is decent, and then they have Sean Henn and Brian Bruney. Thats a better bullpen than alot of other teams in the league, and with an offense like theirs it should be good enough. Not if their starters are averaging 4 innings a start though.

thats cuz the Rangers have pretty much no pitching at all(starter-wise). whos thier ace? Milwood?

Yanks can ouslug any1 as long as they get decent pitching.

Last nite even tho our pitching gave up 10 runs to the f'in Devil Rays, our offense kept us in the game. So if we had decent pitching we'd be gud.

And Chingy is coming bak tonite to pitch. We should take this game

I don't know how much longer Wang can keep this up. He doesn't strike people out. I think it's eventually gonna catch up with him. He's a good #3 starter, but the Yankees are relying on him to be their staff ace. As for Pettite, he's a good pitcher, but I don't think he's the same pitcher he was back early in the decade. If the Yanks keep doing stupid crap to him like bringing him in to pitch in relief, he's gonna get hurt

You don't need to strike people out to be a good pitcher.

But when the ball is always being put into play, you are livin' on the edge as a pitcher. Plus, it's not like he has a great defense behind him to scoop up all those ground balls
